Have we stopped to think about the fact that Hank just wants Connor to make his own decisions about who he is and who he wants to be to Hank instead of Hank just putting aces in their places and delegating what Connor will be to him?
Have we stopped to think about how Hank will feel like any position he puts Connor in will feel forced and fake because Connor didn’t decide it.
How he wants Connor to want to be something to him.
“And what is it you think you can do for me, Connor?”
Hank knows. Hank knows what Connor has already done for him - how he’s given him a newfound reason to hang on to Earth a little longer, how he’s restored his faith in the world, how he’s brought upon a small light that Hank never thought he’d see again.
He doesn’t know why he’s being so resistant. So difficult. There’s no reason for it.
“People don’t stay once I let them in. My ex-wife didn’t stay. Cole didn’t stay. My parents didn’t stay. None of my friends stayed, not after Cole died. Why the fuck do you think you’ll be any different?”
